Preparing for your Porcelain Veneers Procedure

If you have an upcoming appointment scheduled for porcelain veneers, it’s important that you prepare for your procedure. You can start by understanding exactly what porcelain veneers are, and also what will happen during your visit to the dental office. Irvine cosmetic dentist Dr. Norman Huefner is dedicated to educating his patients on all aspects of dental veneers, including how to prepare for your appointment.

Porcelain veneers are designed to look like your natural teeth, which means the veneers must  be custom-made for each patient. This involves taking impressions of your teeth, creating temporary veneers, and trying them out for a few days to get an idea of how they feel in your mouth. Typically, the entire dental veneer process requires three visits to our office.

In order to prepare for porcelain veneers, it helps to know:

  • The purpose of veneers
  • The problems that veneers can correct
  • How veneers are placed
  • How long veneers are supposed to last
  • How the teeth are prepared for the placement of veneers
  • How to care for and maintain veneers after they are applied

If you are considering veneers or you have already made a commitment to getting porcelain veneers placed on your teeth, it is important that you understand what is involved in a dental appointment. Our office is highly knowledgeable about porcelain veneers and our staff is happy to answer all of your questions.

Please contact Dr. Huefner today at 949-495-6322 to schedule a consultation. Dr. Norman Huefner’s General and Cosmetic Dentistry serves patients in Irvine, Orange County, and all surrounding areas.
